The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.com) currently operates 76 institutes and research institutions throughout Germany and is the world’s leading applied research organization. Around 32 000 employees work with an annual research budget of 3.4 billion euros.
Our group „Multimedia Communications“ is part of the Audio and Media Technologies department and makes the newest 3D audio research experienceable.
We develop real-time demo applications for smartphones, web, and desktop platforms by assembling our in-house digital audio signal processing components into functional frameworks. By integrating these components with other systems—such as head-trackers for position determination or AR/VR glasses—we generate realistic 3D audio signals. This allows users to interactively experience high-quality spatial audio communication for music and entertainment, as well as for telephony and communication.
